Stepping off the plane at Jackson Hole Airport, the couples were met by the crisp mountain air, the sheer scale of the peaks rising around them, and their EXP Guides. This vacation was not only about enjoying the adventures that awaited them in this wild and wide-open landscape but also an opportunity to unwind in a luxurious base together.

A Wild Welcome

From the airport, a private transfer whisked the couples along a scenic drive to their home for the next three nights: Teton Village’s Caldera House. Nestled at the base of Rendezvous Mountain, this intimate boutique hotel offers stunning details that accentuate the surrounding environment with minimalist design.

After the couples settled into their respective boutique suites, featuring floor-to-ceiling windows, vaulted ceilings, and wood-burning fireplaces, the adventures began in the afternoon with a visit to Teton Raptor Center – an exclusive, behind-the-scenes experience.

This conservation hub offered an intimate introduction to some of Wyoming’s most impressive aerial predators. Under the guidance of passionate conservationists, the couples met four extraordinary birds of prey – owls, hawks, eagles, and falcons – all of which perched gracefully on the glove.

There was something truly special and intimate about standing eye-to-eye with these wild, ancient creatures. As the EXP Guides, alongside the center’s founders, shared their mission and conservation efforts, this wasn’t just a chance for the couples to encounter wildlife but also to experience a connection to the history and land that these birds call home.

Back at the hotel, the couples enjoyed sunset cocktails, particularly loving Tai Birds and Kiwi Kir Royals, the hotel’s spin on the classics. They then had their first dinner together at Corsa, where they savored bold Italian fare in the beautiful chalet-inspired setting. This combination of adventure and indulgence set the scene for the remainder of the trip.

Whitewater, Wildlife, and Starry Skies

The following morning unfolded slowly after a leisurely coffee and pastries overlooking the mountains. The day’s first adventure awaited them on the Snake River, where the couples’ relaxing state was supercharged with whitewater rafting.

Guided by EXP whitewater experts, they set out along a stretch of Class III rapids, thrilling enough to generate excitement and adrenaline yet also balanced by calmer sections perfect for soaking up the scenery and taking a dip in the cool, clear river.

After refueling with lunch and taking a chance to enjoy some of Caldera House’s exceptional facilities, the group swapped the morning’s lifejackets for binoculars, opting for a slower pace, and headed out on a private sunset wildlife safari.

Led by their passionate and knowledgeable EXP Guides, the couples ventured into the park’s most abundant wildlife spaces. With cameras poised, they spotted moose grazing in meadows and bighorns – the symbol of the Tetons – roaming the trails against the dusky scenes. The golden sunset light made for an incredible wildlife-spotting experience.

As darkness fell, the couples were then treated to the final experience of the day, a private stargazing excursion in Grand Teton National Park. Beneath some of the darkest and clearest night skies in the country, expert astronomers set up state-of-the-art telescopes and guided the couples through the constellations and planets above. At the same time, glasses of fine wine, accompanied by cheese and charcuterie, were paired with the experience. To finish off, the decadent desserts were a true cherry on top for a memorable first day.

Saddling Up for Scenic Rides

No journey to the American West is complete without embracing the ranching heritage, and for these two couples, a morning spent on a private ranch was the perfect way to discover more. They were introduced to Jackson Hole’s horse culture by seasoned wranglers – a legacy they explained as rooted in trust and the unbreakable bond between rider and horse.

Before saddling up, there was time to connect with the horses and build this trust properly. They then enjoyed the open trails, which wound through meadows and forests, offering panoramic views and backdrops of the Teton Mountains. A relaxed yet delicious barbecue-style lunch awaited them at the ranch, featuring fire-grilled steaks and fresh salads.

The afternoon then called for more relaxing activities, and the couples indulged in the world-class spa back at the hotel. After massages and facials, the couples reunited in the cedar dry sauna and heated outdoor infinity plunge.

Witnessing Yellowstone’s Greatest Shows

Their final day was reserved for one of America’s most iconic wild places, and this spirit of adventure continued into the otherworldly landscapes of Yellowstone National Park. Led by expert EXP Guides, the day was spent exploring the Upper and Lower Geyser Basins, a surreal mix of mud pots, geysers, and hot springs.

Highlights included the famous Grand Prismatic Spring, the largest hot spring in the country, and Old Faithful, home to the largest concentration of geysers in the world. EXP Guides expertly timed a route for the couples to witness multiple eruptions.

Back at Caldera House, the couples were treated to an izakaya-style final dinner at Shin Shin, feasting on fresh yakitori, nigiri, and sashimi while watching the setting sun paint the Tetons brilliant colors as they toasted premium sake and cocktails.
