Journeys That Matter
At EXP Journeys, travel has always been about more than just destinations – we make it about connection, understanding, and having a meaningful impact. This year, we took a significant step forward in such a mission to create authentic experiences that not only transform your perspective but also support the communities and ecosystems we are privileged to explore and operate within. Without these amazing places, people, and cultures, creating the magical journeys we are known for would not be possible. So, back in January, we launched the EXP Foundation to support and enrich these communities and say thank you. [...]
Keep It Weird
The journey began at the Commodore Perry Estate, where old cowboy charm meets the weird, untamed spirit of Austin, Texas. From the moment guests stepped onto the meticulously manicured lawns of the historic estate, it was clear that this was not going to be an ordinary retreat. Embracing the spirit of ‘Keep Austin Weird,’ EXP transformed the estate into a microcosm of the city’s true essence. Local artists splashed their vibrant works across canvases as hypnotists and tarot readers pulled guests into realms of mystery. Food trucks served up local favorites, with [...]
Denali Dreaming
When a group of 10 guys came to EXP Journeys asking to explore the great outdoors in a less-traveled destination, we knew The Last Frontier, with its jagged peaks, untouched rivers, and remote glaciers, was the perfect setting. Departing from the largest seaplane base in the world, Lake Hood, the group loaded into two seaplanes and began their journey east towards the Alaska Range and their base for the week at the foot of Denali National Park: Chelatna Lake Lodge. Upon arrival the guests were greeted by their hosts and guides, and [...]
Telluride Treasures
Located in a box canyon surrounded by some of Colorado’s most rugged peaks, Telluride is a small town with a rich history that includes colorful stories of the gold rush and outlaws of the wild west. EXP hosted a multigenerational family in several residences at the stunning Element 52 Resort for a summer reunion that neither the 7- nor 70-year-olds will soon forget. When they arrived in town, the family thought they were gathering to enjoy each other’s company in a stunning mountain setting – they weren’t mistaken, but they quickly learned [...]
70th Birthday Celebration on the Colorado
Milestone birthdays are some of our favorite occasions for taking multiple generations of a family exploring. To celebrate the patriarch of this particular family turning 70, EXP crafted the perfect blend of luxury and adventure – rafting to a private, exclusive camp set up along the banks of the Colorado River in one of the most remote locations in the region. The family members arrived into Moab, Utah and were escorted to a private lunch site to be briefed on the upcoming adventure. Spring in the Southwest had sprung, and the [...]
A Private Patagonian Heli-Experience
When a client asked EXP to take his family plus a friend’s family to Patagonia over festive season, we knew we had to create not only a once-in-a-lifetime journey, but also a once-in-a-lifetime holiday memory for both families. The goal was relatively simple: to go to places that have seldom been seen and never been touched by humans. While that might sound impossible these days, the landscape and remoteness of Patagonia, at the southern end of South America, make it very feasible. Fishing rivers that have never been fished, climbing glaciers that have never had a footprint, and naming [...]
